I admit it
Every time I open my laptop
I look forward to seeing —
no, not the emails from friends or colleagues,
nor social media notifications, nor
any of the sort. I look forward to seeing the new image
on my Bing home page. They never cease to thrill and delight me
and each time feast my eyes
on some photograph of a far flung location on our planet,
I smile and marvel
at this wonderfully beautiful place
we chose to make our physical home.
I take these images with me throughout the day
and whenever I come upon news that is less than savory,
or images that are less than impressive — like a used disposable face mask lying in a drain, I squeeze my eyes shut
and remember the image of a beautiful pristine planet that remains untouched in many parts.
I envy the photographers who get to travel to these locales and snap photos that warm the heart of millions. I read about places
that I did not even know existed; I experience images of stunning sunsets
and sunrises; of moonlit nights over a tiny villages covered under a first
coating of winter snow; I see images of powerful rushing rivers
through untouched forests.
I see images of birds and wild animals in their natural habitats and I
just want to grab a bag pack and visit each and every one.
These photographs are absolutely stunning!
I live on a tiny island in the middle of the Caribbean sea and
it is beautiful here; I believe that I live in paradise but it is heartwarming to know that there are so many other pockets of paradises around,
just waiting to welcome the visitor who would be happy to take only photographs and leave only footprints.

Author’s note:-
I was thinking of doing a Shakespearean Sonnet but this descort is just as nice, not?
