There is something about the monarch butterfly and I finally figured it out.
It is an excellent reader of energy.
I have never found this species to be shy. It would always bob and dance around me while I garden, trying to entice a game of tag. I would pause to admire its intricate dance until curiosity invites it elsewhere.
No other butterfly ever comes this close to me.
A very picky eater, the adults lay eggs on the milkweed plant, which means that my cabbage, greens, melons, and kale will not become victims to marauding monarch caterpillars.
Knowing this, the energy I emanate when I see a monarch, as opposed to those others, is one that says, let’s play, dance for me.
